A high-level Zambian delegation has conducted an official benchmarking visit to the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (ECAE) to benchmark its institutional systems and practices. The visiting team included senior officials from the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) alongside representatives from the ministries of Trade, Agriculture, Health, and Fisheries and Livestock.

Welcoming the delegates, ECAE Director General, H.E. Engineer Meaza Abera, stated: “We are honored by your presence and appreciate your interest in learning about our systems, processes, and practices.”  She emphasized that such benchmarking visits drive regional development by providing vital opportunities for mutual learning and knowledge exchange. Ultimately, the collaborative visit aims to strengthen the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of conformity assessment services and foster closer technical cooperation between both nations.

During the visit, the delegates were briefed on ECAE’s overall services, engaged in an interactive Q&A session, and shared operational experiences. The delegation also toured ECAE’s state-of-the-art laboratories and service delivery facilities.
