Analytical Laboratory Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop Held at ECAE.

For 10 days, laboratory professionals from the Bulbula, Yirgalem, and Bure IAIP regional IPDC laboratories engaged in intensive practical training on analytical testing, HPLC systems, digital refractometers, aflatoxin analysis, and laboratory quality assurance systems; strengthening the technical foundation needed to support Ethiopia’s growing agro-industrial sector at ECAE’s laboratory facility.

Implemented by UNIDO with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the program aimed not only to strengthen laboratory expertise, but also to build lasting professional collaboration and knowledge-sharing among participants.

The training session concluded with a certificate award ceremony led by Dr. Alexandra Attisani, Deputy Director of AICS, Mr. Asegid Adane, UNIDO Deputy Representative for the Regional Office Hub in Ethiopia, and Engineer Meaza, Director General of ECAE, recognizing the successful completion of the training program by all participants.

Leadership from the participating organizations underscored the high expectations for the trainees. Beyond applying their technical discipline, the participants are tasked with “bridging the gap” by transferring their knowledge to regional staff.
