Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise and Ethiopian Standards Institute management & staff members have commemorated the 127^th anniversary of the battle and Ethiopia’s victory over Italy under the theme “Unity, Bravery and Perseverance”.

Dr. Meseret Bekele, Director General of the Institute of Standards of Ethiopia, gave the event’s opening address and emphasized that Adwa is a day of victory rather than independence and that every Ethiopian should be proud of it. In addition to being a source of national pride for Ethiopians, she claimed that the victory in Adwa was won by collective sacrifice of Ethiopians without any exception.

On the event, a short discussion paper prepared by the Federal Ministry of Defense was presented, and a discussion was held with comments and questions from the participating employees. In her closing remarks, Mrs. Meaza Abera, Director General of Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise, asked attendees to apply the courage they had learned from Adwa’s victory to the current state of their country. She stated that the current generation must contribute in the spirit of cooperation and unity of our heroes in Adwa in order to end the history of poverty in our nation.
