World Quality Day was celebrated in Ethiopia for the 13th time from November 26 to November 28, 2016E.C under the theme “Quality: From Compliance to Performance” with an exhibition and panel discussion attended by companies certified by the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment (ECAE) for product quality and management systems. The exhibition was inaugurated by His Excellency Ato Endalew Mekonnen, State Minister in the FDRE Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MoTRI).
World Quality Day is an international event that aims to highlight the important role that quality of products and services plays in the success of organizations and the growth and prosperity of a country. The exhibition program, which was open to the public for three days and was attended by companies certified by the ECAE, enabled the public to identify quality products and services. In addition, ECAE’s laboratories were opened for visits to various segments of the community and awareness was raised about the services provided by the enterprise. A panel discussion was also held on the quality and safety of food and beverages, and the quality and safety of construction materials and construction sector, in which various manufacturers and service providers and stakeholders of the sector participated. At the conclusion of the program, certificates of appreciation and recognition were presented to the participating companies for their participation in the event by the enterprise’s Director General, Engineer Meaza Abera.
