A study tour on the leather and leather products is being held for the East African Community. Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise, hosted the tour, in conjunction with the EAC-Germany PTB (German Institute of Metrology) project.
PTB representatives, CEOs of the East African Community, inspectors, and representatives from the public and private sectors of 16 nations participated in the benchmarking session. These five days of touring will allow EAC members to network, share experiences, and learn new skills in order to improve the productivity, value creation, and overall competitiveness of the leather and leather products industry. The importance of testing quality in the performance of Ethiopia’s leather industry was explained at the opening session and laboratories of Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise were visited.
